Rough Start for our Guardians in the 1st Innings ️
The game began quietly, with both teams unable to get on the scoreboard in the first inning. Tyler Freeman, Lane Thomas, and Jose Ramirez all made outs, so the atmosphere was one of tension and anticipation. The Diamondbacks quickly took advantage at the top of the 2nd, with Josh Bell hitting a homer, giving Arizona an early 1-0 lead. Despite a tough inning, David Fry responded for us with a solo homer in the bottom of the 2nd, bringing the score to 2-1.Diamondbacks' Power and Guardians' Fight Back
In the top of the 3rd, Bell hit another homer, extending Arizona's lead to 4-1. The bottom of the 4th saw Josh Naylor walking and a single by Jhonkensy Noel, setting up a sac fly by Angel Martinez to bring Naylor home. The gap closed to 4-2. Then came a spark of hope; Jose Ramirez hit a fantastic solo homer in the bottom of the 6th, reducing the deficit to just one run: 4-3.Late-Inning Drama, but Not Enough
The top of the 7th saw Randal Grichuk of the Diamondbacks hitting a solo homer, setting the score at 5-3. In the bottom of the 7th, our pinch hitters tried to rally with hits by Bo Naylor and later Steven Kwan, but they couldn’t quite break through. Thomas did his part with singles, but the final inning saw us falling short. A crucial moment was bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th with two outs, but Daniel Schneemann walked and Lane Thomas struck out, sealing our fate. The final score stood at 5-3 in favor of the Diamondbacks.Our Guardians fought hard but just couldn't bring it home today. But we’ll come back stronger! Keep the faith, Cleveland! ️
