A Rocky Ride for the Rockies
Hey Rockies fans!
Diamondbacks Strike Early
The game started off rough. We saw our starting pitcher get into trouble immediately. Ketel Marte struck out looking, but then Corbin Carroll came up and smashed a homer to right center, going 438 feet!
Rockies’ Silent Bats Early On
We had a tough time with the bats in the early innings. In the bottom of the 1st, Brenton Doyle, Ezequiel Tovar, and Brendan Rodgers all went down without much fight. The Diamondbacks kept us scoreless while adding to their lead with another homer from Carroll and Grichuk in the 2nd inning, pushing their advantage to 6-0.
Rockies Show Some Life
Finally, in the bottom of the 3rd, we started showing some heart. Sam Hilliard singled to left, Jordan Beck struck out, but Aaron Schunk brought some hope with a single. A bit of luck came our way as Doyle hit an infield single, loading the bases. Tovar then came up and delivered a crucial 2-RBI single, making it 6-2.

Defensive Struggles Cost Us
The top of the 9th was the nail in the coffin as the Diamondbacks added 3 more runs. Corbin Carroll walked, followed by a single from Joc Pederson, and then a sacrifice fly by Walker. A double from Smith and a single from Eugenio Suárez made it 9-2.Too Little, Too Late
In the bottom of the 9th, we tried to make a comeback. Jacob Stallings and Hunter Goodman set up Hilliard for a 2-RBI single, closing the gap to 9-4. But it just wasn't enough as Beck and Schunk couldn't keep the rally going.End of the day, our Colorado Rockies came up short, but we’ll keep cheering and hoping to turn it around next game. Let’s keep the faith, Rockies Nation!
