Early Promise from the Diamondbacks
The Arizona Diamondbacks started the game strong, giving fans hope for a good result against the Detroit Tigers. Corbin Carroll kicked things off with a thrilling triple to right, followed by Ketel Marte delivering a single to drive Carroll home, putting the D-backs up early. Geraldo Perdomo added another run with a sacrifice fly, making it 2-0 by the middle of the second inning. Our bats came out swinging, and we got on the scoreboard quickly!
️Tigers Roar Back
Unfortunately, the Tigers found their stride at the bottom of the fourth inning. Dillon Dingler capitalized on a single to center, allowing two Tigers to score and leveling the game. From there, the situation rapidly deteriorated for the D-backs in the 5th inning when Gleyber Torres and Riley Greene each hammered home runs with Spencer Torkelson's fumbled fielding adding to our lack of fortune. The Tigers scored a crushing six runs in the inning, flipping the game on its head. It was painful to watch our early lead slip away.
Struggles Continue as the Diamondbacks Fall
As the game continued, the Tigers proved relentless, adding to their lead at every opportunity. A masterclass of doubles and stolen bases, paired with the Diamondbacks struggling to connect at the plate, put the game decisively in Detroit's favor. The bottom of the 6th and 8th innings saw the Tigers further increasing their lead to an overwhelming 12-2.Despite our resilience in the face of adversity, we couldn't claw our way back into the game. In the midst of our frustration, we'd like to acknowledge Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte for their determined efforts getting us off to a promising start. Unfortunately, the night belonged to the Tigers, and we'll have to regroup and get them next time. Onward and upward, D-backs fans!
