Tough Loss Against the Astros
Hey D-Backs fans, it’s always a tough pill to swallow when our team doesn’t manage to put any runs on the board. The Astros took the win this game with a final score of 0-8. Let's dive into the key moments:
1st Inning Struggles
Ketel Marte and Corbin Carroll both grounded out to second, while Randal Grichuk managed to walk before Christian Walker ended the inning with a fielder's choice. On the Astros side, Jose Altuve doubled, but our defense held strong to keep the game scoreless.
Astros Take the Lead
The Astros drew first blood in the 2nd inning when Jose Altuve’s bunt grounded out to our pitcher, allowing Ben Gamel to score. We had some hope when Geraldo Perdomo reached on an infield single in the 3rd, but we couldn't capitalize.
Big 5th Inning for Astros
The game spiraled out of control in the 5th. Yordan Alvarez homered to right, bringing home Mauricio Dubón and Jose Altuve. Yainer Diaz also walked, putting even more pressure on our pitchers.
Another Alvarez Bomb in the 6th
As if it wasn’t enough, Yordan Alvarez homered again in the 6th inning, scoring Mauricio Dubón and Jose Altuve. The Astros increased their lead to 8-0. It was hard to watch our bullpen take such a pounding.
A Long Night Comes to End
Our bats went quiet throughout the game. Christian Walker and Eugenio Suárez managed to get on base in the 7th, but a double play swiftly ended our hopes. In the 9th, Randal Grichuk, Pavin Smith, and Eugenio Suárez couldn’t change the fate, all getting out quickly to close the night.
Hang in there, D-Backs fans! We have another chance to bounce back in the next game. Let's keep the faith and hope for a big win next time.
