Tough Loss in Houston
Hey D-backs fans, last night's game against the Astros was a tough one to swallow. Despite a promising start, we fell 11-5 to Houston. Let's break down what happened!Early Lead!
Things started off strong for the D-backs in the 2nd inning. Eugenio Suárez singled to right, followed by another single from Jake McCarthy. Kevin Newman then stepped up with an RBI single that brought Suárez home. McCarthy made it to third on a fielder's choice and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Jose Herrera. We ended the inning up 2-0.Staying Competitive
In the 4th inning, Kevin Newman hit a solo homer to left center, making it 3-1. The Astros answered back hard, though, tying the game and eventually taking a lead we couldn’t recover from. They scored four runs in the bottom of the 4th to pull ahead 5-3.Brief Comeback Hope
Eugenio Suárez gave us a glimmer of hope with a homer to left center in the 6th inning, narrowing the gap to 5-4. Unfortunately, the Astros piled on five more runs in the bottom of the 6th, including a three-run homer from Jeremy Peña.Final Attempts
We added one more run in the 7th when Jose Herrera scored off a single by Christian Walker, but it wasn't enough. Our bats fell silent for the rest of the game. Corbin Carroll, Pavin Smith, and Christian Walker all struck out in the 9th inning to close it out.Looking Forward
