Tough Loss for the Diamondbacks
Hey Diamondbacks fans! It was a tough day at the office as the Royals managed to overpower us with a final score of 10-4. Let's break down what happened.Early Innings: A Promising Start
The game started off with both teams being scoreless. In the top of the 3rd inning, Kevin Newman doubled to left and Alek Thomas followed with another double to center, bringing Newman home. Ketel Marte then crushed a 415-foot homer to left, scoring Thomas and putting us ahead 3-1.Royals Take Control
Unfortunately, the Royals responded in the bottom of the 3rd with a run from Bobby Witt Jr. and a two-run homer from Salvador Perez, taking a 4-3 lead. They extended their lead in the 4th inning with a three-run homer by Witt Jr. and a solo shot by Hunter Renfroe.Mid-Inning Woes
The Diamondbacks struggled to get back into the game. In the 5th and 6th innings, we went down in order with no runs to show for it. Meanwhile, the Royals managed to stretch their lead to 10-3 by the end of the 6th inning.A Glimmer of Hope
In the 8th inning, Christian Walker doubled to center and went to third on a fielding error. Joc Pederson, pinch-hitting for Randal Grichuk, walked. Eugenio Suárez hit a sacrifice fly to center, allowing Walker to score and making it 10-4. But it was too little, too late.Final Push Falls Short
In the 9th inning, we had a small rally when Marte reached on an infield single, and Gabriel Moreno walked, putting runners on first and second.
