Tough loss as early lead evaporates
What a rollercoaster! The Dodgers came out swinging with a high-energy start in the bottom of the 1st inning. Shohei Ohtani kicked things off with a single to center, followed by a walk from Will Smith. Just when the Diamondbacks thought they had us, Freddie Freeman smashes a 397-foot homer to center, bringing home Ohtani and Smith, putting us up 3-1 early on. And we didn’t stop there! Teoscar Hernández added another run with a solo homer to left-center. By the end of the 1st inning, it looked like we were in control with a 4-1 lead.Diamondbacks fight back
Unfortunately, from the 3rd inning onwards, the Diamondbacks fought back hard. It started with Eugenio Suárez doubling to left, scoring Jake McCarthy, followed by Gabriel Moreno hitting a 388-foot home run, tying the game at 4-4. Despite our best efforts, our pitchers struggled to contain their batting lineup. Christian Walker hit a solo homer in the 4th to retake the lead for the Diamondbacks. By the end of the 5th, we were down 6-4.Late game struggles
The Diamondbacks didn’t let up. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. added two more runs in the 6th with a 431-foot homer, extending their lead to 8-4. Despite changing pitchers, we couldn’t stem the tide. The 9th inning was particularly tough to watch as Walker hit another homer, a three-run shot, putting them up 12-4.Bright spots despite the loss
There were some positives in today's game. The early fireworks from Freeman and Hernandez were thrilling to watch and showed our potential. Andy Pages also had a couple of decent hits. But tonight, the Diamondbacks just had the momentum and our bullpen had a tough time keeping up.It’s a tough loss for sure, but we bounce back! On to the next game, and let’s hope for a better outcome. Go Dodgers!
