A Rough Start in Milwaukee
Our Arizona Diamondbacks couldn't quite close the gap against the Brewers today, ending the game with a 5-7 loss.

Things started off slow, with both teams unable to put any runs on the board in the first two innings.
Ketel Marte managed to keep us hopeful by drawing a walk in the first inning, and
Corbin Carroll followed with a single to give us some early promise. But we couldn’t capitalize with runners on base.
That Disastrous Third Inning
The third inning was quite the hurdle!

The Brewers really piled it on with a five-run explosion, fueled by singles from their lineup and a crucial walk.
Andruw Monasterio and
Brice Turang started it off for Milwaukee, with
Christian Yelich bringing in two more with a single to the left. By the time
Slade Cecconi relieved
Drey Jameson, the damage was already deep. Our bats went quiet and we were looking at a 5-0 deficit before we knew it.
Fighting Back in the Sixth
Despite the tough start, our D-backs showed resilience in the sixth inning!
Alek Thomas and
Geraldo Perdomo set the table with a single and a smartly taken HBP. Then,
Marte singled to get us on the board, and
Carroll followed with another RBI single. The real highlight was when
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. blasted a three-run homer, pulling us within just one run of the Brewers, making the score 6-5. It was a hopeful moment that reminded us of our potential.
The Final Stretch
Unfortunately, the Brewers inched further away with a solo homer from
Caleb Durbin in the 8th, pushing the game to a 7-5 score that our bats couldn’t answer in the 9th. Our hearts sank as
Adrian Del Castillo,
Blaze Alexander, and
Alek Thomas couldn’t get things rolling to spark a comeback in the final inning.

As much as it stings, today’s game showed the grit this team has. Let’s bring that fighting spirit into the next matchup, D-backs!
