A Tough Game for the D-backs in Philly

Well, folks, it wasn't our day today as we faced off against the Phillies 😔. Despite our hopes and the strong support from the fans, we suffered a tough 1-12 loss. Here's a recap of the game.

Struggles at the Plate

It was a rough start for our boys today. In the top of the 1st inning, Corbin Carroll popped out, Ketel Marte grounded out, and Joc Pederson struck out swinging. Unfortunately, this pattern continued for much of the game as we couldn't get our bats going. We didn't get a hit until the top of the 5th when Jake McCarthy singled to left, and later Tucker Barnhart drove in our lone run with a single to right, scoring Christian Walker who was hit by a pitch earlier in the inning.

Dominant Phillies Offense

On the flip side, the Phillies came out swinging. In the bottom of the 1st, Bryce Harper and Nick Castellanos got on the board early with back-to-back plays, scoring two runs. The bottom of the 3rd inning was a nightmare as Harper homered followed by another homer from Alec Bohm. Our pitchers just couldn't catch a break 😟.

Pitching Woes

Our pitching staff had a challenging day. Barnhart did his best, but the Phillies kept finding ways to get on base. In the bottom of the 5th, Castellanos hit a two-run homer that stretched their lead. Despite making pitching changes, including bringing in Thyago Vieira and Joe Mantiply, the Phillies continued their onslaught, culminating in a two-run homer by David Dahl in the 8th inning.

Looking Ahead

This game may not have gone our way, but it's just one game. We have plenty more opportunities to come back stronger. Keep the faith, D-backs fans! 🌵❤️ Let's rally behind our team and look forward to the next game.

Until next time, stay positive and keep cheering for our boys in Sedona Red! 🚀💪

Go D-backs!
