It was a nail-biter at Citizens Bank Park as the Arizona Diamondbacks fell short against the Philadelphia Phillies, losing 3-2. Despite showing plenty of heart, our D-backs couldn't quite edge out the victory against a tough Phillies lineup.Early Opportunities and Defensive Battles
The Diamondbacks came out swinging in the top of the 1st with Ketel Marte and Corbin Carroll singling, giving us early hope. But the Phillies' pitching kept our hitters in check, striking out Randal Grichuk, Eugenio Suárez, and Josh Naylor to leave us scoreless.Kyle Schwarber put the Phillies on the board in the bottom of the 1st with a double that brought Trea Turner home. But our team matched their energy in the 4th inning when Geraldo Perdomo drove in Lourdes Gurriel Jr. with a single, leveling the game at 1-1.
Taking the Lead and a Tight Finish
The 6th inning brought a spark for the Diamondbacks as Gabriel Moreno doubled, later scoring on Gurriel Jr.'s single, putting us ahead 2-1. The excitement was palpable amongst us fans!

We fought until the very last moment, but the top of the 9th inning saw Gurriel Jr., Tim Tawa, and Perdomo unable to find the gaps against Phillies closer José Alvarado.
