Bats on Fire in First, Thanks to Pederson!
Hey fellow D-backs fans, we came out swinging in the top of the 1st inning! Corbin Carroll doubled to center, setting the stage for Ketel Marte to unfortunately fly out. But then, Joc Pederson took the Padres' pitcher deep, launching a 411-foot homer to center, scoring Carroll! Although Christian Walker and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. almost kept the momentum going, we ended the inning up 2-0.Rocky Middle Innings
Things quickly took a turn for the worse. In the bottom of the 4th inning, the Padres clawed their way back with a string of hits and a crucial three-run homer by Manny Machado. By the end of the 6th inning, we found ourselves in a tough spot at 7-2 against the Padres.Late-Game Heroics and Heartbreak
In the 9th inning, it looked like we were mounting an epic comeback. Alek Thomas delivered a massive 413-foot homer to right center, bringing in 3 runs and cutting the lead. Then, Randal Grichuk came through with a clutch 379-foot homer to left, giving us an 8-7 lead. It felt like victory was within reach!Unfortunately, our bullpen couldn't hold the fort. In the bottom of the 9th inning, the Padres' Jurickson Profar tied the game with a solo homer, and Manny Machado delivered the final blow with a 396-foot walk-off homer, sealing our fate at 10-8. Heartbreaking loss, but what a battle! We'll get them next time!
