Tough Loss for the D-backs in San Francisco
Our Arizona Diamondbacks put up a good fight against the Giants tonight, but unfortunately, we fell short with a final score of 5-3. Despite some solid efforts, it just wasn’t enough to topple San Francisco on their home turf.
1st Inning Setbacks
The game started rough for us with Ketel Marte striking out swinging. Geraldo Perdomo showed patience and drew a walk, but Corbin Carroll grounded into a double play, closing out a scoreless inning for the D-backs. Then the Giants quickly took the lead with a three-run homer by Willy Adames, putting them up 3-0.
Building Momentum
In the 5th inning, Tim Tawa kicked things off with a double to left, and Jordan Lawlar followed with a double of his own, bringing Tawa home. Lawlar then stole third, setting up Jorge Barrosa to hit a sacrifice fly, scoring another run and closing the gap to 4-2. It was a shining moment of the game for us!Heartbreak in the Clutch
In the 6th inning, Geraldo Perdomo and Blaze Alexander got on board with singles, with Ildemaro Vargas bringing Perdomo home to make it 5-3. But despite having ducks on the pond, we couldn't drive in more runs. Our hopes for a comeback were dashed as Adrian Del Castillo struck out swinging and Tim Tawa followed suit in clutch situations later on.
The Last Stand
Going into the 9th inning, the D-backs had a chance to rally after Jake McCarthy and Adrian Del Castillo got on base. We had Connor Kaiser make a strategic bunt move, but ultimately, it led to an unfortunate fielder's choice. With runners on, Alek Thomas couldn't capitalize, and the game ended with Ketel Marte grounding out.Though it was a night of missed opportunities, our boys showed some fighting spirit throughout. Let's keep our chins up and look forward to seeing our D-backs bounce back in the next game!
