Exciting Start, Fast Lead
The Arizona Diamondbacks put on quite a show right from the get-go against the St. Louis Cardinals. In the top of the first inning, Ketel Marte singled to center, setting the stage for Josh Naylor to double right. This set up Eugenio Suárez, who delivered beautifully with a single, bringing home both Marte and Naylor, allowing our beloved D-backs to start off with a solid 2-0 lead.
Holding the Line but Cardinals Catch Up
We were riding high until the bottom of the first when the Cardinals managed to notch a run with Ivan Herrera bringing Brendan Donovan back to home plate. We held our ground admirably through most of the innings. Brandon Pfaadt was doing a fine job keeping their bats at bay, despite Masyn Winn tying it up with a solo homer in the third.Still, we had all the fire we needed coming into the sixth inning. Eugenio Suárez doubled, paving a path for Pavin Smith to single to right and score Suárez, making it 3-2—a brief but delightful lead.

A Battle Till the End
With the game tied at 3-3 after a sacrifice fly by Herrera in the sixth, it turned into a true nail-biter. The Cardinals managed to sneak past us with a single from Victor Scott II, reclaiming the lead at 4-3 in the seventh inning. We had our hopes hanging high in the ninth inning with Alek Thomas starting off with a double and Geraldo Perdomo getting hit by a pitch to place us strategically with runners on second and third. But alas, the rally didn’t materialize as we had envisioned. A couple of strikes later, it was the Cardinals finishing on top with a close 4-3 victory.Despite the close loss, our D-backs showcased a thrilling game filled with resilience and spirit. We're hopeful for some bounces going our way in the next match. Keep those heads high, folks!
