Tough Battle in Washington
Hey Diamondbacks fans! We faced off against the Washington Nationals and came up just short with a final score of 4-5. It was a tight game filled with some great moments and a bit of frustration. Let's dive into the highlights and see how things unfolded.Early Hopes and Homers
The game got off to a promising start with Corbin Carroll leading the charge with a triple in the top of the first inning. A sacrifice fly by Geraldo Perdomo brought Carroll home, giving us an early 1-0 lead.
In the top of the second, Jose Herrera launched a solo homer to right center, tying the game at 2-2.

Key Plays and Closing Drama
Our boys fought hard in the fifth when Pavin Smith singled, bringing Jose Herrera around to score and cutting the deficit to 3-4. In the eighth inning, Alek Thomas tripled, scoring Josh Naylor to make it 4-5. The tension was palpable going into the ninth.
Corbin Carroll gave us a glimmer of hope with a double in the top of the ninth, advancing to third on a ground out. But, unfortunately, we couldn't bring him home to tie the game, with Randal Grichuk's final ground out sealing the Nationals' victory.
While it wasn't our night, there were plenty of encouraging signs. The resilience and fight shown by our Diamondbacks will set the stage for future victories. Let’s keep our heads up and look forward to bouncing back in the next game!
