Heartbreaker in Phoenix
Oh boy, fellow D-backs fans, what a rollercoaster we had tonight!
D-backs Shine Midway
Despite a rocky start with Marcell Ozuna and Sean Murphy homering in the early innings for the Braves, our bats came to life in the 4th inning. Gabriel Moreno, Eugenio Suárez, and Alek Thomas combined to turn the game around and give us a 5-2 lead. Eugenio Suárez was undoubtedly the star of the night with three massive homers!
Late-Inning Drama
The Braves clawed back with a dramatic 4-run rally in the 8th inning, where Michael Harris II's double really hurt us. We pulled level in the 9th thanks to another Suárez homer – his third of the night – which sent the game to extra innings. Unfortunately, a wild pitch in the 10th allowed the Braves to sneak ahead. Randal Grichuk got a chance to pinch-hit in the bottom of the 10th, but alas, he couldn't muster the magic we needed. An Unfortunate Ending
Despite the loss, the team deserves applause for their efforts, especially Eugenio Suárez, who gave us hope in the late innings. It was one of those nights where the breaks didn't go our way, but there's always another game to bounce back and show them what we've got. On to the next one, D-backs!
