Dominant Pitching Shines Early
What a game, fellow O's fans!
The first few innings showcased stellar pitching from both sides. The Braves were retired in order during the first inning, courtesy of tight defense and precise work from our starter. On our side of the first, Adley Rutschman managed to draw a walk, but we couldn't capitalize.Mullins and Mateo Get Us on the Board
The breakthrough came in the bottom of the 3rd inning with Cedric Mullins doubling to right and then Jorge Mateo singling to move him to third. Gunnar Henderson grounded out, but it was enough to bring Mullins home. An error by Braves' Matt Olson allowed Mateo to score soon after, putting the O's up 2-0.Defense Holds the Line
Our boys in the field were all over it — the Braves were unable to get much going through the middle innings. Mateo's speed and skill were particularly on display when he nabbed a steal, adding constant pressure on the Braves’ defense. Unfortunately, the Braves clawed their way back into the game in the top of the 8th inning. Ozzie Albies singled, setting the stage for a two-run homer by Matt Olson, making it a tied game at 2-2. Tensions were high, but our team remained focused.Cowser's Heroics Seal the Deal
With the game knotted up, it was Colton Cowser who supplied the magic in the bottom of the 8th! After Ryan Mountcastle reached on an infield single, Cowser crushed a 392-feet homer to center field, giving us a 4-2 lead. The crowd went wild, and the momentum was firmly back with the Orioles.Closing it Out
Kimbrel took the mound in the 9th and delivered the goods. By inducing ground outs and securing a crucial strikeout against Jarred Kelenic, he sealed the win for us. Final score: O's 4, Braves 2. What a performance!
