It wasn’t until the 4th inning that the bats started to heat up, thanks to Ian Happ who blasted a homer to right-center, getting us on the board.The 5th inning saw a ray of hope as Dansby Swanson started with a walk, setting the stage for Matt Shaw to double and bring Swanson home. Though we were still trailing, the fighting spirit was evident.

By the time we reached the 6th inning, our Cubs began to claw back into the game. A gutsy double by Swanson drove in two more runs, putting us within striking distance at 4-6. Finally, in the 8th inning, Carson Kelly delivered the crucial blow with a two-run homer that brought Ian Happ home to tie it up, 6-6.
