Tough Day for the Braves
Fans, it was a tough day for our Atlanta Braves as we fell to the Milwaukee Brewers with a final score of 8-3. While we saw some flashes of brilliance, it simply wasn't enough to get past a determined Brewers lineup.
Early Innings: Tense Start
The game started off with a lot of strikeouts on both sides. Jarred Kelenic grounded out, Austin Riley fouled out, and Marcell Ozuna flied out to left in the top of the 1st inning. Brewers' Brice Turang, William Contreras, and Jake Bauers all struck out, keeping the score 0-0 after the first inning.
Solo Shots Lead the Way
The top of the 4th inning finally gave us something to cheer about! Marcell Ozuna launched an impressive 438-foot home run to left, putting us on the board 1-0. Right after that, Orlando Arcia homered to center in the 5th inning, giving us a 2-0 lead. What a blast!
Brewers Strike Back
Unfortunately, the Brewers responded quickly. Rhys Hoskins homered to left center in the bottom of the 5th inning. Then, in the 6th inning, Willy Adames hit a big home run to left center, scoring 3 runs and putting Milwaukee ahead 4-2. Ouch!
Late Inning Struggles
In the 7th inning, Brewers took advantage of some errors. A bunt single by Sal Frelick and a triple by Joey Ortiz extended their lead to 5-2. Milwaukee kept piling it on in the bottom of the 8th with a two-run homer by Jackson Chourio and a sacrifice fly by Rhys Hoskins. By the end of the inning, it was 8-2.
Final Push
We gave it one final push in the 9th inning with Sean Murphy hitting a solo homer to left, but it wasn't enough as the game concluded with a final score of 8-3.
Looking Ahead
Let's keep our spirits high, Braves Nation! We saw some good plays today and the next game is a new opportunity for us to bounce back. On to the next one!
