Tough Loss in New York
Well, Braves fans, it was a tough night for us in New York as we fell 7-3 to the Mets. Despite a spirited start, we couldn't quite keep pace with the Mets, who were relentless from the third inning onward.Early Breath Hold
We all held our breath in the top of the 1st when Ronald Acuña Jr. struck out, and Matt Olson drew a walk giving us a flicker of hope. Unfortunately, Marcell Ozuna flied out, and Austin Riley struck out looking. The Mets didn’t fare any better in their first inning, so it was nil-nil after one.Highlight from Drake Baldwin
Our spirits were briefly lifted in the 4th when Drake Baldwin delivered a stunning solo homer to center, powering out a 433-foot blast to tie things up at 1-1. It was certainly a proud moment for Baldwin and the Braves!
Tough 4th and 7th for the Braves
The game took a downward turn for us in the bottom of the 4th when the Mets exploded for five runs, capped off by a critical error that allowed Ronny Mauricio to score after a sacrifice fly from Francisco Lindor. Juan Soto showed up again with another homer in the 7th, pushing the Mets further ahead at 7-1.Fighting Back in the 9th
We didn’t go down without a fight! In the last push during the top of the 9th, Acuña Jr. came through again with a single that brought home Ozzie Albies and Alex Verdugo, cutting the Mets' lead to 7-3. But unfortunately, that was where the rally ended as Ozuna grounded into a fielder's choice to close out the game.Final Thoughts
While tonight wasn’t our night, Braves fans, we know this team has the potential to bounce back and deliver. It’s just one game in a long season, and we’re all here, ready to support them with Braves pride every step of the way. On to the next one!
