Tough Loss in Extra Innings
Fellow Pirates fans, it was a heartbreaker at PNC Park as our Pittsburgh Pirates fell to the Atlanta Braves in an intense 11-inning battle, with a final score of 3-2 in favor of the Braves. Despite our best efforts, it just wasn't enough to secure the win today. The game was tight, but we kept fighting until the very end!Offensive Highlights
Our guys showed some grit out there, and Joey Bart came through clutch, going 3-for-4 with an RBI, scoring Oneil Cruz in the bottom of the third. Matt Gorski also added an RBI in the 8th, as Ji Hwan Bae sped his way home on a throwing error by the Braves' third baseman. Kudos to Bae for using his speed to put us in scoring position!
It's worth noting how our squad still created scoring opportunities and almost plated the winning run in extra innings.Pitching Standouts
On the mound, our hurlers kept the Braves within reach. Despite a solo home run by Matt Olson in the 3rd, our pitching staff did their best to keep the game tight. David Bednar was exceptional, escaping a jam in the 8th thanks to an unfortunate throwing error but bounced back fiercely with two strikeouts. We're proud of our bullpen for digging deep in those pressure cooker moments and almost taking it to the house!
️Moving Forward
While this one stings, we saw some positive moments and exciting plays from our Buccos. It's a long season, and we've got plenty more baseball left to play. Let's keep supporting our team and channel our Bucco spirit as we look forward to bouncing back in the next series!
