Tough Loss for the Padres
Hey Padres fans! Another rough game for us as we fall to the Braves 6-1. We started out strong, but just couldn't keep up with Atlanta's offense.Promising Start
The game started pretty tight with both teams showing solid defense. Our boy Jake Cronenworth got things moving for us in the 4th inning with a double to left. That set up Manny Machado's double to right, bringing Cronenworth home and giving us an early 1-0 lead. Feels good to be on the scoreboard first, right?Trouble in the 5th Inning
But then the 5th inning hit us like a freight train. Marcell Ozuna led off with a solo homer to center. Then Adam Duvall doubled, followed by a sacrifice from Eddie Rosario, moving Duvall to third. Travis d'Arnaud singled to right, allowing Duvall to score. To top it off, Orlando Arcia hit a 2-run homer. Just like that, it was 4-1 Braves. Ouch.Late Innings
We tried to fight back, but Braves' pitching kept us in check. In the 8th inning, they added another run with a sac fly from Austin Riley making it 5-1. Then Ozuna struck again in the 9th with another solo shot. That guy was on fire tonight. We had a couple of chances, like when Ha-Seong Kim got on base in the 8th and got to second on a throwing error. But, from there, our bats went quiet. Xander Bogaerts managed to hit a single in the 9th, but it wasn't enough to spark a rally.
Looking Forward
It's a tough pill to swallow, but let's keep our heads up, Padres Nation. We saw some good things tonight, and there’s always another game to turn things around. On to the next one!Go Padres!
