Tough Night in San Diego 😓

Hey Braves fans, it was a rough outing for us in sunny San Diego as the Braves fell 0-4 to the Padres. Let's break down what happened.

First Inning Struggles 🔄

Michael Harris II started with a single to right, bringing us some early hope. However, swings and misses followed as Ozzie Albies and Marcell Ozuna struck out, and despite Matt Olson also getting on base with a single, Jorge Soler struck out to end our half scoreless.

The Padres quickly capitalized, with Luis Arraez singling to left and Fernando Tatis Jr. crushing a two-run homer that put us in an early hole.

Missed Opportunities 😞

Throughout the game, our bats were cold. Ramon Laureano and Travis d'Arnaud each had some moments, but we just couldn't bring anyone home. The Padres' pitching was on point, stifling our lineup inning after inning.

Tatis Jr. walked to start the third, but a great double play by our defense ended their inning quickly. However, we couldn’t turn that momentum into runs.

Tough 8th Inning â›”

As we neared the end of the game, batted balls found gloves instead of gaps. Ozzie Albies did manage a single and stole second to give us a glimmer of hope, but it wasn't meant to be as Marcell Ozuna struck out swinging to end our rally.

Kyle Higashioka added another nail in the coffin with a solo home run in the bottom of the 8th inning, stretching the Padres' lead to 4-0.

Final Push Falls Short 😕

In the top of the 9th, we tried to mount a comeback. Jorge Soler singled to right, but when Eli White ran for him, he got caught out at second on a fielder’s choice. Our last chance, Ramon Laureano, advanced to second on fielder's indifference, but Travis d'Arnaud grounded out to end our hopes.

Not the result we wanted, but we'll bounce back! Keep the faith, Braves Country! 🌟
