Tough Loss in Extras
Well Braves fans, it was an electrifying night at Truist Park, but unfortunately, we fell short 9-6 to the Orioles in a nail-biting 10-inning game. Our guys battled hard, taking an early lead and swinging the bats well, but Baltimore managed to edge out with the win in extra innings. Let's recap the action!
️A Strong Start
The Braves came out swinging! In the bottom of the 1st inning, after a double by Matt Olson, Austin Riley powered a two-run homer that rocketed 429 feet to give us the early 2-0 lead.
We were all feeling great, and the energy in the stadium was fantastic. Matt Olson continued to dazzle, launching a solo homer in the 3rd to tie the game at 3-3 after the Orioles had briefly taken the lead. His consistency at the plate was a huge factor tonight.Back and Forth Battle
Our Braves showed resilience. After falling behind 5-3 in the 4th inning, Matt Olson and Austin Riley again turned the game in our favor. Olson's single in the 4th brought home Nick Allen, and Riley's double scored Ronald Acuña Jr., leveling the game at 5-5. Then in the 6th, Jurickson Profar managed an RBI groundout that nudged us back ahead 6-5. Sadly, the Orioles tied it back up in the 7th and eventually ran away with it in the 10th.A Disappointing Finish
The extra innings saw Baltimore capitalize on their scoring opportunities with Laureano's decisive double and Stallings' two-run double sealing our fate. Our attempts to respond came up short in the bottom of the 10th. A shout-out to our pitchers for striking out 14 Orioles, but that 10th inning was tough on the bullpen.
In the end, though we took the "L", it's these hard-fought games that make us proud to be Braves fans. Now, we shake it off and look forward to bouncing back in the next game. Keep the faith, Braves Country. Let's chop on to the next one!
