Heartbreaking Loss for the Orioles
It was a tough night for us O's fans as we watched our boys fall to the Tigers 4-2. Despite some promising moments, our offense just couldn't get it done against a resolute Detroit pitching staff.Early Opportunities Missed
In the first inning, we had a chance to get on the board early with Anthony Santander doubling to right. Unfortunately, Heston Kjerstad grounded out, ending the threat. In the second inning, Colton Cowser doubled to right but couldn't score as Emmanuel Rivera struck out swinging. It's frustrating to see missed opportunities like these early in the game.Greene Homers Twice
Detroit's Riley Greene definitely had our number today. He homered to right in the 3rd inning, bringing in Andy Ibáñez and giving the Tigers a 2-0 lead. He did it again in the 8th inning, sealing our fate with a solo shot. Our pitching struggled with him, and it cost us.Rutschman’s Late Rally
Things got a bit hopeful in the 8th inning when Adley Rutschman launched a 380-foot homer to right, bringing in Cedric Mullins and cutting the deficit to one. The score was 3-2, and we were back in it! For a moment, it felt like we could pull off a comeback.Tough Ninth Inning
The 9th inning didn’t go as we hoped. Colton Cowser, Emmanuel Rivera, and Jackson Holliday all went down without much of a fight. And that was the game. Final score: Tigers 4, Orioles 2. What a tough pill to swallow.Looking Ahead
It wasn't our night, but we have to keep our heads up. Baseball is a game of highs and lows, and we’ll bounce back. Let's keep supporting our Orioles as they continue their journey this season. On to the next game!Scoreboard for Orioles @ Tigers (September 15th, 2024)
