Disappointing Night for the Orioles
Ah, the joys and heartbreak of baseball! The Orioles started strongly but ultimately struggled against the Philadelphia Phillies, falling 3-13. The game showcased a mix of promising plays and frustrating moments for our beloved Orioles.Early Spark
Our hopes soared in the top of the 2nd inning when Adley Rutschman doubled to right, and then Tyler O'Neill launched a homer to left field, bringing them both home.
Mid-Game Challenges
Unfortunately, things started to unravel in the 3rd inning when Kyle Schwarber matched us with a homer for the Phillies, bringing the score to a 3-3 tie. The tide turned in the 6th inning; after some strategic pitching changes, Harrison Bader homered to left, driving home three runs, and Schwarber struck again with another homer, this time bringing in four runs. That inning brought their score to a staggering 11-3.
Struggles to Regain Ground
The Phillies fortified their lead in the 8th, with homers from Edmundo Sosa and Weston Wilson, concluding their scoring at 13 runs. Our own batting efforts were stifled by the opposing pitchers, leaving us unable to close the gap.Looking Forward
While this game was a tough one, let's remember the flashes of brilliance from players like Rutschman and O'Neill. Teamwork and determination will bring brighter days. Let's keep supporting our Orioles!
