What a Victory for the Orioles!
What a fantastic game for the Baltimore Orioles fan base! We flew to Seattle and faced off with the Mariners, finishing with a convincing 5-1 win. The game started with a strategic top of the 1st inning. A single by Adley Rutschman, followed by another hit from Gunnar Henderson, paved the way for Ryan O'Hearn to load the bases. Ramon Urías delivered a sacrifice fly to get us on the scoreboard, bringing Rutschman home. We'd end the inning with a 1-0 lead.
Building the Lead
Although Rowdy Tellez's solo homer allowed Seattle to tie it up in the bottom of the 2nd inning, O'Hearn and Co. wouldn't let that shake us. In the top of the 5th, Rutschman and Henderson set up the field again, allowing O'Hearn to send Rutschman home and regain our lead at 2-1. The highlight of the game came next when Colton Cowser stepped up to the plate in the 6th and smashed a 374-foot home run to left center to set the tone for the rest of the game!
Sealing the Deal!
The Mariners' pitching changes in the 8th couldn't stop our momentum. In the top of the 9th inning, Coby Mayo and Heston Kjerstad came clutch with Mayo scoring and Kjerstad doubling, advancing our lead to 4-1. Jordyn Adams, who ran for Kjerstad, then scored on a Jackson Holliday single, followed by another single from Rutschman that kept the line moving. Our bullpen, led by Felix Bautista, closed it out in style, retiring the final Mariners batters and securing a 5-1 victory. Go O's!
