Tough Loss in Baltimore 😢

The Boston Red Sox fell to the Baltimore Orioles with a final score of 2-4. Despite some solid plays and moments that had us on the edge of our seats, we just couldn't clinch the win today.

Early Struggles at the Plate ⚾️

The game started off slow for both teams with no runs in the first four innings. Our boys had a tough time getting things going, with Jarren Duran and Wilyer Abreu both flying out early. We finally saw some action in the top of the 4th when Triston Casas and Rafael Devers managed to get singles, but it wasn't enough to bring a run home.

Orioles Strike First 😬

The Orioles took the lead in the 5th inning with Adley Rutschman hitting a homer to right center. Ryan Mountcastle and Cedric Mullins followed, but we managed to keep them from adding to their score. However, things really took a downturn in the 6th inning when Gunnar Henderson hit a homer that scored two more runs, putting Baltimore ahead 4-0 by the end of the inning.

Our Late Push 💪

We finally got on the board in the 8th inning. Triston Casas walked and Devers doubled, putting them in scoring position. Masataka Yoshida's walk loaded the bases, but we struggled to capitalize—though Ceddanne Rafaela did manage to bring Casas home, making it 4-1. Rob Refsnyder gave us a glimmer of hope in the 9th with a homer, but it wasn't enough to turn the tide.

Final Thoughts 📝

Our bullpen had its ups and downs, with Bernardino stepping in to stop any further damage in the 8th, but the offense just couldn't keep up today. Despite the loss, we saw some flashes of brilliance, and we'll keep our heads up for the next game. Better days are ahead, Red Sox Nation! 🚀
