Tale of Two Halves
What a rollercoaster of emotions this game was! Unfortunately, our beloved Baltimore Orioles came up just short against the Boston Red Sox, with a final score of 4-3. The game kicked off with a disappointing start as the Orioles quickly fell behind when Roman Anthony homered to right center in the 1st inning. Jackson Holliday and Gunnar Henderson couldn't swing the momentum back our way when they each struck out swinging.
Colton's Heroics
The highlight of the day was absolutely Colton Cowser's performance. He stepped up big time in the 2nd inning by hammering a solo homer to center that brought us level with the Red Sox, 1-1. Later in the 3rd inning, Cowser delivered again with a crucial single to center field which allowed Gunnar Henderson and Ryan Mountcastle to score, putting us in a confident lead of 3-1.
Red Sox's Rally
Things took a turn for the worse in the 5th inning when Jarren Duran hit a three-run homer, which was ultimately the nail in the coffin for us. Despite valiant attempts from our bullpen, we just couldn't manage to get those essential runs. Our guys gave it their all right to the very end, but sometimes that's just how baseball goes. Even though it was not the outcome we hoped for, there's still plenty of baseball left to play! We continue to be hopeful for more fireworks from our Orioles as they look to regroup and face the next challenge head-on.
