Tough Day in Detroit 
Well, Red Sox Nation, today was not our day as we faced the Detroit Tigers. Despite our high hopes going into the game, the Tigers came out swinging and didn't look back. The final score was a tough 2-14
. Our bats just didn't come alive like we hoped. Let's break it down.Early Struggles
Right from the start, the Tigers put pressure on us. After a promising start by Rafael Devers who managed a single in the top of the first, it appeared luck might be on our side. Unfortunately, Jarren Duran and Kristian Campbell were unable to follow up, leaving Devers stranded. The Tigers retaliated quickly in their first at-bat. Gleyber Torres hit a two-run homer, giving Detroit an early lead that set the tone for the game.
An Onslaught We Couldn't Stop
The top of the 3rd gave us some hope with Rafaela and Devers managing to reach base, and Alex Bregman walking to load them, but alas, it wasn't meant to be. The Tigers exploded offensively in the bottom of the 3rd inning, scoring a whopping 9 runs, capitalizing on errors and wild pitches. Trey Sweeney's three-run homer hurt the most, adding to the mounting score. From there, we couldn't make a significant comeback as Detroit extended their lead further in the later innings.
Some Bright Spots 
While it was a tough game overall, Wilyer Abreu managed to break the no-score streak with a solo home run in the 6th inning, sending one flying over the fence.
And let's not forget about Abraham Toro, who kept fighting until the end, hitting another notable homer in the 9th inning. These moments remind us that there's always a glimmer of potential shining through, even on the bleakest of days.Red Sox Nation, it was a challenging game, but we'll rally back.
