Early Fireworks

Last night's game against the Astros started with a burst of excitement ⚾. Our beloved Boston Red Sox took the lead right from the get-go, thanks to a powerful start by Roman Anthony and a 350-foot homer by Alex Bregman 💣. With Anthony putting the bat on the ball and Bregman smashing it out of the park, we found ourselves up 2-0 at the top of the 1st. However, despite getting Jarren Duran into scoring position with a stolen base, we couldn't add more to the tally.

Astros Strike Back

The Astros found their groove in the bottom of the 3rd, starting to close the gap with a series of hits. An impressive two-run double by Christian Walker turned things against us, giving the Astros a 3-2 lead 😞. Unfortunately, our struggles continued in the 4th inning when Chas McCormick and Ramon Urías hit home runs, extending the Astros' lead to 7-2. Our bats went cold, unable to get those crucial hits to respond.

Fighting Spirit in the 7th Inning

The Red Sox regrouped in the 7th, showing off our famous fighting spirit 💪. Abraham Toro launched a 398-foot homer to revive our hopes. Masataka Yoshida got in on the action with a crucial RBI double, bringing in Rafaela. Then, Roman Anthony stepped up yet again with a two-run homer, narrowing the gap to just one run at 7-6 😊. A rally was on the cards, but the Astros' bullpen stood firm.

Heartbreaking Finish

Despite Connor Wong keeping things alive with a double in the 9th, the game ended in heartbreak with Roman Anthony striking out for the last out, sealing a narrow 7-6 loss. The Red Sox's resilience was commendable, but we left Houston without the win. This was a tough one to swallow, but with the spirit and hustle shown, there are still plenty of positives to build on moving forward. Let’s get them next time, Sox Nation! Go Red Sox! 🍀
