Tough Start in the First Inning
The game began with a bit of a rollercoaster! After giving up a run to the Red Sox early, our very own Alex Bregman quickly evened the score with a solo homer to left field (361 feet) in the bottom of the first inning! ️ Way to go, Bregman! Unfortunately, after Jeremy Peña was caught stealing second, our momentum stalled.Middle Innings: Missed Opportunities
Despite some solid hits, we struggled to bring those runners home. Mauricio Dubón and Yainer Diaz both managed some nice singles, and Diaz even earned a walk. But unfortunately, crucial outs from Jeremy Peña, Victor Caratini, and Jake Meyers kept us from adding to our run total. Justin Verlander had a decent outing but gave up another run on a wild pitch. The Red Sox extended their lead further in the 7th inning.Late Innings: Final Push
In the bottom of the 7th inning, we had a golden opportunity to rally. With Meyers and Dubón on base, the stage was set. Unfortunately, pinch hitter Jon Singleton struck out looking, and Trey Cabbage walked to load the bases but Bregman and Yordan Alvarez couldn't capitalize, leaving the bases loaded.Closing Inning Woes
The Red Sox managed to get another insurance run with David Hamilton’s solo homer to right field. Despite a late effort in the bottom of the 9th inning with Zach Dezenzo singling to right and advancing to second, Trey Cabbage struck out swinging to end the game. Final score: 4-1.We put up a good fight, but the Red Sox were just too much for us tonight. Let’s not get discouraged, Astros fans! We’ll get them next time! ️
