Strong Start for Red Sox Offense!
We opened the game with some promising offense but couldn't quite convert initially. Jarren Duran struck out, but Wilyer Abreu and Masataka Yoshida followed with singles. Sadly, Rafael Devers and Connor Wong couldn't bring them home as they both struck out. However, our offense quickly got into gear in the 2nd inning. Dominic Smith and Nick Sogard set the stage, and it was David Hamilton who cashed in with an RBI double, scoring Smith. Duran brought in another run with a ground out, putting us up 2-0.Pitching Keeps Royals in Check
Our pitching staff was solid to start. In the first inning, the Royals threatened with a single by Maikel Garcia, but Bobby Witt Jr. grounded into a double play and Vinnie Pasquantino struck out to end the threat. In the second, James Paxton got into a bit of trouble with a single from Salvador Perez, but managed to shut it down with two more outs.Game Tied Up, But Not For Long
The Royals managed to climb back into the game in the 3rd inning. Kyle Isbel walked and Witt Jr. drove him in with a single, making it 2-1. Then, in the 4th inning, after Michael Massey tripled and Freddy Fermin scored him on an infield single, it was all tied up at 2-2.Red Sox Take the Lead Again
The top of the 6th inning was the turning point. Sogard singled and Ceddanne Rafaela followed with another single to set the stage. A double by Duran brought both runs home, putting us back ahead at 4-2. Duran would then steal third but was left stranded on a fly out by Abreu.Big 7th Inning Seals the Deal!
The real explosion happened in the 7th inning. Yoshida and Devers singled, followed by an RBI double from Wong. Romy González then hit a monster home run to center (452 feet), extending the lead to 8-2. The Royals made a pitching change but we had already inflicted the damage.Holding the Line
Royals attempted to respond but our bullpen was mostly up to the task. Massey and Garcia added runs in the 7th inning making it 8-4, but we got out of the jam. In the 8th, Pasquantino homered making it 9-5, but that was as close as they would get.Finishing Strong
Our bullpen closed it out nicely. Garcia relieved and despite Paul DeJong drawing a walk in the 9th, Booser came in and got Garcia to ground out to end the game.Red Sox win 9-5! An all-around team effort with solid offense, clutch hitting, and reliable relief pitching. Let's keep this momentum rolling!
