The game took a turn for the worse in the third inning when Francisco Lindor hit a two-run homer to right field after Jeff McNeil walked. This put the Mets up 2-0, and it was a blow we couldn't quite recover from.We tried to claw back in the fifth inning. Masataka Yoshida reached on an infield single and Nick Sogard drove him in with a single to center, making it 2-1. But, we left two runners stranded to end the inning, leaving us just short .

In the seventh inning, Mark Vientos hit a solo homer, putting the Mets up 3-1. After Pete Alonso singled, it started to look even more grim for us. Our relief pitcher Slaten couldn't stop the bleeding. We managed to score again in the eighth, with Duran scoring on a sacrifice fly by Enmanuel Valdez. But this was quickly overshadowed by the Mets' offensive explosion in their half of the eighth inning. Lindor and Alonso added more runs, making it 7-2. A tough inning to watch for Red Sox fans .
Final Innings and Final Thoughts
We couldn't muster any more offense in the ninth inning. Danny Jansen and Triston Casas struck out, while Ceddanne Rafaela flied out to center. It was a hard-fought game, but ultimately our bats fell silent and the Mets pulled away in the later innings.
Let's keep our heads up, Red Sox Nation! There's always the next game to look forward to. Until then, let's hope our team finds its groove soon!
