Mets Start Strong with Early Lead
What a game for our Mets! The boys in blue came out swinging right from the get-go, setting the tone in the bottom of the 1st. Francisco Lindor got things rolling with a single to right. After a walk to Brandon Nimmo and a single by Mark Vientos, the bases were loaded. Pete Alonso struck out, but then Jesse Winker delivered big time with a centerfield homer!
Lindor, Nimmo, and Vientos all came home, putting us up 4-0 early. Red Sox Fight Back but Mets Hold the Line
The Red Sox showed some fight in the top of the 3rd. Enmanuel Valdez kicked things off with a single to left, followed by another single by Nick Sogard. Jarren Duran then hit a ground rule double, scoring Valdez. Sacrifice flies by Rafael Devers and Wilyer Abreu brought the score to 4-3. But the Mets’ defense held strong, shutting down further attempts.Dominating the Late Innings
The Mets’ pitching really held the Red Sox at bay from the 6th inning onwards. Huge shoutout to A. Young, Brazoban, D. Young, and Maton for keeping the lead intact. Heading into the bottom of the 8th still up by just one run, the crowd was on edge, but the guys were ready to deliver.Brandon Nimmo walked to start the 8th, followed by a single from Vientos. After Alonso struck out again, Winker walked, loading the bases. Then came another walk by Tyrone Taylor, bringing Nimmo home! The Red Sox brought in Hill to pitch, but to no avail. Jeff McNeil walked, scoring Jose Iglesias, followed by another walk to Francisco Alvarez, bringing in Winker. Harrison Bader sealed the deal with a sacrifice fly, scoring Taylor and making it 8-3.
Closing it Out in Style
In the top of the 9th, Edwin Díaz came in to close the deal. Despite a lead-off walk to Triston Casas, Díaz stayed calm under pressure. He struck out Connor Wong and got Enmanuel Valdez to foul out. The final out came as Romy Gonzalez struck out swinging. Game over, Mets win, 8-3!Amazing effort, team! Let's keep this momentum going!
