Red Sox vs. Yankees: A Wednesday Night Standoff in The Bronx
Hey Yankees fans!
Yankees' Early Lead
It took us a while to get on the board, but that fourth inning sure was a thrill with Aaron Judge doubling to center and Cody Bellinger subsequently bringing him home with a single.
The Sixth Inning Drama
The Red Sox weren’t going down without a fight. Masataka Yoshida hit a homer that leveled the score. But in typical Yankees fashion, we responded right back. Volpe’s decisive single and subsequent scoring on a fielding error gave us a two-run cushion. Then he showed his hustle by stealing third!
A Nail-Biter to the Finish
The 7th inning saw a brief scare as the Sox managed to close the gap, but our efforts to maintain the lead were valiant, especially with Yonny Pestana keeping his cool under pressure. Unfortunately, the 8th saw the Sox tying it all up, and neither team could break the deadlock in the final frame, sealing the night's competition at a tie.It was a roller coaster evening with a mix of stellar defensive moments and clutch offense. While a tie is not quite as sweet as a win, it's always special to see how our Yankees rise to a challenge. On to the next one! Go Yanks!
