Yankees Start Strong with Torres' Homer
What an opening!!!
Gleyber Torres set the tone early with a solo home run to right-center, sending the Bronx faithful into a frenzy and giving us a 1-0 lead right out of the gate! Our ace pitching also made quick work of the Red Sox batters in the top of the 1st. Absolutely electric atmosphere to kick things off! Pitching Dominance Holds Red Sox Scoreless Early
Our boys on the mound were outstanding! Cortes and the bullpen kept the Red Sox hitters at bay through the early innings, striking out batters left and right. The tension in the stadium was palpable as Danny Jansen homered to tie the game 1-1 in the top of the 5th. Despite the pressure, our pitchers and fielders remained strong. Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and the rest of the lineup kept pushing, but the Red Sox defense was tough to crack. It felt like a playoff game out there!
Pitchers' Duel into Extra Innings
Both teams' bullpens were lights out through the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th innings. Hamilton, Hill, and Kahnle showed why they are key pieces in our bullpen, keeping the game locked at 1-1 and setting us up for a thrilling finale. The Red Sox pitchers matched our guys, extending the deadlock into extra innings. No one could get an edge, but we believed in our Yankees!Bottom of the 10th: Yankees Walk-Off Victory!
Celebration time! In the bottom of the 10th, Juan Soto came through in the clutch. After Gleyber Torres was replaced by a pinch runner, Soto hit a double to left field, sending the runner home for the winning run! YANKEES WIN 2-1! The stadium erupted in cheers as Soto was mobbed by his teammates. What a fantastic way to secure a hard-fought victory over the Red Sox!
