Tough Night at Busch Stadium: Red Sox Fall to Cardinals
It was a night of high hopes but eventual disappointment for us Boston Red Sox fans as our team took on the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium. Despite a gripping performance, the Red Sox couldn't clutch the win, falling 2-7 to the Cardinals. Let’s dive into what was a rollercoaster of a game.
Early Game Nerves and a Spark of Hope
The game kicked off on a tense note, with both teams setting strong defenses. The first inning saw Jarren Duran flying out, but not without Wilyer Abreu walking and stealing a base, showing early signs of aggression from the Red Sox. The 9th inning felt like the quiet after the storm for us Sox fans. Despite a single from Tyler O'Neill, hope of a last-minute comeback was snuffed out as Dominic Smith grounded into a game-ending double play.
