Tough Loss for Red Sox Despite Early Lead 😟

The Red Sox started strong in the top of the 1st inning with Rob Refsnyder hitting a solo homer to left field, giving us an early lead, 1-0. It was a promising start! However, we couldn't maintain the momentum as Jarren Duran and Romy Gonzalez were both retired quickly, and Rafael Devers struck out looking.

Pitching Dominance Early On 🔥

Our pitching did a fantastic job in the first three innings, keeping the Rangers scoreless. Josh Smith, Corey Seager, and Marcus Semien were all sent back to the dugout. Things were looking good for the Red Sox as we clung to a 1-0 lead.

Refsnyder's Second Homer! 💣

In the top of the 4th inning, Rob Refsnyder came up big again, smashing another homer, this time to left-center, extending our lead to 2-0. Connor Wong's single brought home Devers to make it 3-0, but that would be the last time the Red Sox scored in that inning as the Rangers brought in Leclerc to change the game.

Rough 4th Inning for Sox 🚨

The bottom of the 4th was a nightmare for our pitching. Adolis García's walk was followed by a three-run homer from Jonah Heim, tying the game at 3-3. The Rangers kept rolling with another homer from Leody Taveras, taking a 4-3 lead. It was disappointing to see our hard-earned lead disappear so quickly.

Keep Fighting! Refsnyder's Heroics Continue 🏃‍♂️

The top of the 7th brought some hope back, with Ceddanne Rafaela singling to right and later scoring on Refsnyder's double, reducing the deficit to 7-4. However, despite a balk advancing Refsnyder to third, both Wilyer Abreu and Rafael Devers struck out, halting our momentum.

Late Game Struggles ❌

Our attempts to mount a comeback in the 8th and 9th innings fell short. Although we managed some hits, including singles from Danny Jansen and Nick Sogard in the 8th inning, we couldn't capitalize on these opportunities. Refsnyder led off the 9th with a single, but the subsequent batters couldn't drive him home, culminating in a 7-4 loss to the Rangers.

Closing Thoughts 💔

It was a tough game for the Red Sox fans as we saw a promising start slip away. Kudos to Rob Refsnyder for his impressive performance today, but the Rangers' explosive 4th inning proved to be the game-changer. Better luck next time! Let's keep supporting our team! Go Sox! 🌟⚾
