The game started off quietly for our Sox, with Jarren Duran grounding out and Masataka Yoshida walking in the first inning. Unfortunately, Rob Refsnyder and Rafael Devers didn’t manage to bring anyone home. Meanwhile, the Rangers took an early lead with Corey Seager homering in the bottom of the 1st, and Josh Jung added another solo shot in the 2nd inning, putting us down 2-0.Clawing Back Into the Game
In the top of the 3rd inning, David Hamilton singled to right, and Jarren Duran doubled to center, bringing Hamilton home and cutting the Rangers’ lead to 2-1. Wilyer Abreu then homered in the 4th inning, tying the game at 2-2. Our pitching held strong, with Nick Pivetta and later Booser keeping the Rangers at bay. ️Taking Control
Jarren Duran smashed a solo homer in the 5th inning to give us a 3-2 lead. The bottom of the 5th saw stellar defense, capped off by a flyout from Marcus Semien. In the 6th inning, Abreu shined again with a massive 3-run homer, scoring Devers and Connor Wong, pushing us way ahead at 6-2. Hamilton then stunned with a solo homer in the 8th inning, extending our lead to 7-2.Closing It Out
Our bullpen came through spectacularly. First, Kelly in the 7th inning, followed by Bernardino in the 8th, and finally the nail in the coffin was put in by Winckowski in the 9th. Each reliever held strong, allowing no further runs and sealing the deal. The Rangers couldn’t catch a break as Grossman, Smith, and Seager all struck out in succession in the 8th.Final Thoughts
