Tough Loss for the Jays 😤

Our Toronto Blue Jays had a rough night against the Red Sox, falling 7-3 in what started as a promising game.

Early Opportunities Missed

We had a solid start when Spencer Horwitz reached on an infield single and Justin Turner got hit by a pitch to move Horwitz to second in the 1st inning, but Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Daulton Varsho, and Danny Jansen all struck out to leave them stranded. In the 2nd inning, Addison Barger doubled, but we couldn't capitalize.

Errors and Comebacks

The Red Sox took advantage of our early errors to score their first run in the 3rd inning, and Enmanuel Valdez's homer in the 4th put them up 2-0. Our team made a strong comeback in the bottom of the 4th with key hits from Barger, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, and Kevin Kiermaier to tie the game at 2-2.

Red Sox Pull Ahead

The Sox didn't stay quiet for long. A homer by Jarren Duran in the 5th and another scoring opportunity in the 6th left us behind 5-2. Despite a wild pitch that allowed Turner to score in the 7th, making it 5-3, we couldn't close the gap.

Final Innings Struggles

Boston continued to stretch their lead with another run in the 8th, thanks to a double by Dominic Smith. Our bullpen tried to hold them off, but errors and missed opportunities cost us. The Red Sox closed out the game in the 9th without giving us much of a chance to rally.

Look Ahead, Jays Fans!

While it was a tough night, there were bright spots, like Barger's performance at the plate and Kiermaier's solid hitting and base-running. Let's keep our heads up and look forward to bouncing back in the next game. Go Jays! 💙⚾
