A Tough Loss in the Desert
Tough one, fellow Diamondbacks fans. We just fell short as the Cubs edged us out 4-3 at Chase Field. Despite a valiant effort, especially in the dramatic 9th inning, we couldn't quite seal the deal against the Chicago squad. Let's break down what happened.

Early Lead and Mid-Game Struggles
The game started with promise as Corbin Carroll and Eugenio Suárez contributed with key plays early on. Randal Grichuk doubled to center, setting the stage for Josh Naylor and Eugenio Suárez to make some moves. Eventually, Gabriel Moreno walked, and a ground-out by Jake McCarthy brought in Grichuk to give us our first run of the game, putting the D-backs up 1-0.However, the Cubs quickly answered back in the 4th inning, tying the score at 1-1 thanks to an RBI double by Miguel Amaya. Kyle Tucker's 405-feet homer in the 5th pushed the Cubs ahead 3-1.
The Ninth-Inning Drama!
A nail-biting finish awaited in the 9th inning. Josh Naylor started us off with a single, followed by a spectacular 407-feet homer from Eugenio Suárez adding two crucial runs to the scoreboard. Now trailing only by one run, hope was ignited in the stands. Gabriel Moreno's single injected energy into the rally, with pinch-runner Garrett Hampson coming in.After Geraldo Perdomo and Ketel Marte got on base, the bases were filled with Hampson running for home on a fielder's choice. Unfortunately, Hampson was tagged out at the plate, quelling what could have been a massive comeback push. Despite a sensational effort, we closed out 3-4.
Tomorrow's another day, D-backs Nation. We'll be back stronger!
