Tough Loss for the Orioles
Heartbreaking game, fellow Orioles fans. The Cubs bested us 9-2, but there were a few bright spots.Early Lead by the Cubs
The game kicked off with a swift homer by Michael Busch in the top of the 1st, putting the Cubs ahead right out of the gate. Our star Adley Rutschman singled in the bottom half, but we couldn't capitalize.Oriole Response in the 2nd
Jordan Westburg answered with a monster homer to left center (418 feet)! This brought the score to 2-1. Heston Kjerstad walked, but unfortunately, we couldn't build on the momentum.Third Inning Disappointment
A couple of errors cost us, and the Cubs added two more runs. Gunnar Henderson and Rutschman tried getting us back in it, with Henderson eventually scoring. The score was 4-2 by the end of the inning.4th Inning Struggles
A tough 4th inning followed with Ian Happ launching a three-run homer. We were down 7-2 and momentum was slipping away.5th and 6th Innings Woes
Our bats went quiet in these innings. We couldn't get anything past the Cubs' pitchers. Meanwhile, our pitchers tried their best to keep them at bay but the damage had been done.Late Game Attempts
Heston Kjerstad added a single in the 7th and Yennier Cano kept us from further misery, but we just couldn't string any hits together.Ninth-Inning Hope Crushed
Relievers couldn't shut the door, conceding another run, making it 9-2. Our final attempts fizzled out as Anthony Santander, Ryan O'Hearn, and Jordan Westburg were retired.Final Thoughts
