Cubs Take the Victory in a Thrilling Comeback!

Hey there, Cubs fans! What an electrifying game we had today against the Cincinnati Reds! Our Cubbies managed to pull off an awesome 11-8 victory, and it was nothing short of spectacular. 🎉

Fast Start and a Rough Patch

We got things rolling in the first inning with our very own Pete Crow-Armstrong driving in Kyle Tucker and Seiya Suzuki, giving us an early two-run lead. But unfortunately, the Reds bounced back hard, scoring four runs in the bottom of the same inning. The Cubs found themselves down 4-2 after the first. Our catcher Reese McGuire tried to keep the momentum, smacking a homer in the second inning to narrow the gap to 4-3. However, the Reds didn't let up, adding more runs to make it 8-3 by the end of the fifth.

Rally Caps On!

A comeback was just waiting to happen with this squad! In the 6th inning, Nico Hoerner took advantage of a wild pitch from Barlow to score, making it 8-4. Our rally continued in the 7th when Hoerner doubled, allowing both Swanson and Crow-Armstrong to score. Then Michael Busch knocked in Hoerner, bringing us within one run at 8-7. Cubs fans were on the edge of their seats!

#LateGameMagic

It was the eighth inning where the magic truly happened. Reese McGuire tied it up with a solo homer—his second of the game! Moments later, Seiya Suzuki blasted a three-run homer, driving in Happ and Tucker to put us in the lead at 11-8. What an incredible swing of the bat! ⚾💥

Closing It Out

Our bullpen did a fantastic job in the late innings, with Keller, Pomeranz, and Palencia shutting down the Reds and preserving the win. The boys stood tall under pressure and secured a well-fought victory.

A standing ovation for the Cubs today—each and every player showed heart and determination. Let's carry this momentum into the next game. Go Cubs Go! 🐻⬇️
