A Rocky Mountain Thriller!

Fellow Rockies fans, what a game! This match-up between our beloved Colorado Rockies and the Chicago Cubs was a nail-biter right until the very end. But the important thing? We came out on top with a 6-5 victory! Let’s dive into the action-packed highlights.

Early Struggles

Things started off slow for both teams. Neither the Rockies nor the Cubs managed to score in the first two innings, keeping us all on the edge of our seats. The Cubs struck first in the 3rd, with two runs courtesy of a double by Seiya Suzuki. But, we didn't let that phase us!

Rockies Rally Back

The bottom of the 3rd inning was a turning point. Braxton Fulford kicked things off with a double to right, giving us a much-needed momentum shift. When Orlando Arcia hit a single, Fulford advanced to third, setting Tyler Freeman up to bring him home with a bunt single. Then, Brenton Doyle knocked a single to center, allowing Freeman to score and tie the game at 2-2. We were back in it! 🙌

Dominating the Middle Innings

In the 4th, Fulford stayed hot with a crucial triple, bringing Kyle Farmer home and giving us the lead. Arcia added to our tally with an RBI single, and we were up 4-2! Our defense held the Cubs scoreless in the 5th and 6th innings while Doyle and Freeman added another run in the bottom of the 7th to make it 5-2. The Rockies spirit was flowing through Coors Field!

Late Drama

The Cubs had a powerful resurgence in the 8th, tying the game 5-5 with a three-run homer by Ian Happ. But the Rockies showed resilience! Ryan Ritter led off the bottom of the 9th with a single, and the star of the night, Mickey Moniak, sealed the deal with a breathtaking triple to right, scoring Ritter and giving us the walk-off win! 🎉

Wrapping It Up

It was a thrilling win, showcasing the team’s determination. The Rockies displayed great performances from Fulford, Arcia, and of course, the game-winning heroics of Moniak. Let's keep up this momentum as we continue the season. Go Rockies! 🚀
