Cubs' Explosive 4th Inning Overpowers Astros
What a fantastic game for us Cubs fans! The Chicago Cubs took on the Houston Astros and came out on top with a decisive 12-3 victory! Right from the start, our guys were fired up and ready to go. Michael Busch got things rolling in the first, drawing a walk with the bases loaded to bring home Kyle Tucker for the first run of the game.
Home Run Derby: Cubs Edition
The game remained tight until the 4th inning when the Cubs' offense exploded! Michael Busch and Nico Hoerner both launched solo homers to give us the lead, but the excitement didn't stop there. Kyle Tucker followed with a three-run blast that drove in Reese McGuire and Ian Happ. With solid hits by Ian Happ and Seiya Suzuki's triple—capped off by Pete Crow-Armstrong's sacrifice fly—it was a massive inning, taking the score to 8-2!
Cubs' Bats Stay Hot
In the later innings, the Cubs kept piling on the pressure. Seiya Suzuki hit a two-run homer in the 8th to extend our lead even further! Vidal Bruján pinch-ran for Dansby Swanson after a double, and shortly after, Michael Busch singled to drive him home. We ended that inning with a solid 12 runs, showcasing our batting depth and prowess.
Pitching Performance
Our defense, backed by a solid pitching crew, did an excellent job containing the Astros. After the initial hiccup in the third due to a home run by Houston's Cam Smith, our bullpen was lights out. Shoutout to our pitchers for keeping their batting lineup at bay after that by allowing only one more run! Stellar performance by Ryan Brasier, Drew Pomeranz, and Ryan Pressly in the later innings.
Here's to another win for the Cubs! Let's keep this momentum going!
