The Cubs started off with a bang in the top of the 1st inning. After Nico Hoerner lined out and Michael Busch walked, Seiya Suzuki smashed a homer to center, giving us an early 2-0 lead.

The bottom of the 6th was a tough one. The Royals came alive with key hits from Bobby Witt Jr., Salvador Perez, and Freddy Fermin. Guess who came to the rescue? Patrick Wisdom! Stepping in as a pinch-hitter, he blasted a grand slam to left-center, reclaiming the lead at 7-4.

The Cubs weren't done yet. In the top of the 9th, Mike Tauchman reached on an infield single, followed by a single from Dansby Swanson.
