The action started heating up in the 3rd inning when Kyle Tucker smashed a 399-foot homer to right, bringing in Michael Busch after his double. That homer ignited the Cubs' momentum, bringing us to a 2-0 lead over the Angels. But we didn't stop there. In the 4th, with bases loaded, Reese McGuire hit a three-run homer to center, giving us a commanding 6-0 lead. From then on, the Cubs didn't look back, with Tucker hitting another homer—his second of the game!—and knocking in three more runs in the 6th inning. This quickly boosted our lead to 10-0. We added a couple of more runs in the 7th, with key hits from Owen Caissie and Dansby Swanson, who both contributed in extending our lead to an impressive 12-0.Strong Pitching and Defense
On the defensive side, our pitchers were spectacular. They kept the Angels scoreless for most of the game, showing an impressive command over the mound. The legendary Mike Trout for the Angels could not find his rhythm today and fell victim to two strikeouts. The Angels only managed to get on the board in the 7th inning, thanks to a solo homer by Jo Adell. But it was too little, too late! Special shoutout to our defense who consistently backed up our pitchers with steady hands and barehanded plays!
