Victory for the Cubs at Angel Stadium!
Fellow Cubs fans, what a game we witnessed today! The Chicago Cubs took on the Los Angeles Angels and came out on top with a nail-biting 4-3 victory. Every game feels like a rollercoaster, and tonight was no exception.
Early Doubts but Solid Comeback
The game started off on a rocky note when the Angels' Taylor Ward smacked a solo homer to left center in the bottom of the first, giving them an early 1-0 lead. Our boys seemed to be off to a slow start with Busch, Tucker, and Suzuki unable to get on base in the first inning. However, by the top of the third, our very own Matt Shaw got things rolling with a stunning ground rule double. Thanks to a single from Kyle Tucker, Shaw scored, tying the game at 1-1.
Turning the Tables in Our Favor
The fourth and fifth innings were a testament to our resilience. Ian Happ walked twice, showcasing his discipline at the plate, and Nico Hoerner did not fail us, blasting a double that brought Happ home, putting us in the lead. The highlight? Carson Kelly extending our advantage with a clutch single, scoring Kyle Tucker.
Nail-biting Finish

The Angels made us sweat when they clawed back two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, helped in part by an unfortunate error. But, our bullpen showed up when it mattered most. Javier Assad and others held the line tight. In the ninth inning, with the pressure mounting, Daniel Palencia delivered the goods, striking out the Angels to seal the victory.
Cubs fans, we took a well-deserved win tonight. Each player's contribution was pivotal, and the game underscored our potential and depth. Keep the faith, keep supporting, and as always, Go Cubs Go!
