Dodgers Offense Showcases Power, But Cubs Steal the Victory
Despite some incredible solo home runs by our boys, the Dodgers fell 6-3 to the Cubs in an evening game that had us gripping the edge of our seats. The game started off strong for our pitching crew. Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman held the line in the first inning, leaving the Cubs scoreless. Tommy Edman knocked it out of the park with a 357-foot homer in the bottom of the 2nd, tying the game at 1-1. Emojis of celebration filled up the fan section!
Pitching Runs into Trouble in the 8th
The game seemed well within reach as we headed into the 8th inning, leading 3-1. A series of pitching changes and unfortunate errors saw the Cubs storm back. Blake Treinen, Alex Vesia, and Evan Phillips couldn’t hold back the Cubs, who turned defensive mistakes into scoring opportunities. A crucial throwing error by Austin Barnes and Tommy Edman cost us dearly, letting the Cubs score 5 runs.Bats Can't Rally in the 9th
We had our chances in the bottom of the 9th, starting off with a walk by Miguel Rojas. Unfortunately, Max Muncy couldn’t capitalize and flied out to center, ending the game. It was a tough pill to swallow given those back-to-back solo home runs from Edman and Muncy earlier.Hats off to Tommy Edman for his two home runs and Max Muncy for his huge 402-foot blast. They gave us a lot to cheer about, even if the W slipped through our fingers this time. Let's keep our heads up, Dodgers fans—I know our boys will bounce back stronger next game!
