Starting Strong
Our Cubs were off to an excellent start in the top of the 1st inning. Michael Busch got us on base, and then Kyle Tucker followed up with a walk. Seiya Suzuki kept the momentum going with an infield single. Brewers' Comeback
In the bottom of the 3rd, the Brewers came alive with Christian Yelich doubling in a run and Isaac Collins adding two more with his own single. Then, Brice Turang hit a sacrifice fly to take the lead, leaving us down 4-3. The Brewers kept the pressure on, stretching their lead further with a solo homer by Andrew Vaughn in the 5th inning.Falling Short
We tried to rally back in the 7th with Tucker driving in Nico Hoerner after Hoerner singled. But in the bottom of the inning, a two-run homer from Yelich made it an uphill climb for us.Ultimately, the Brewers shut us down in the final innings, and despite having some runners on in the 9th, Seiya Suzuki's strikeout ended our hopes with an 8-4 defeat.
